Cricket
Mark is part of the BBC’s internationally acclaimed Test Match Special team having played Minor County Cricket for Cambridgeshire as a respected wicket keeper.
Olympics
Olympics: Mark covered the Olympic Games in Sydney (2000) Atlanta (1996) and Barcelona (1992) for television. One of his personal highlights was being trackside to witness Linford Christie win the 100metres in Spain to become the fastest man on earth.
Racing
More award winning coverage as Mark's own memories include the Grand National evacuation during the Bomb scare, finding tissues for top trainer Jenny Pitman after Royal Athlete’s win in 1995 and the heartbreak for her after the 1993 the race that never was.
Golf
John Daly opened his heart to Mark when he admitted his addictions at Royal Birkdale, and when a young Darren Clark led the Open leader board on the Saturday night Darren got on a bike to ride a mile into Troon for Saggers to interview him.
Tennis
Damir Dokic met his match in Mark when the Tennis bad dad lost his cool at Wimbledon and they both ended up under centre court in police custody. “I never knew there was a police cell under there!” said Mark. Dokic was banned for life – for the altercation that made front page news all over the world.
